Celebrating the Queen’s platinum jubilee in Wilmslow Town Centre.
The town council have made plans to help the whole community celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in June. This will be the first time a British monarch has been on the throne for 70 years!
Kicking of the celebrations we have an augmented reality trail starting Saturday the 30th of April.
This interactive free family activity will take you on a trail around Wilmslow town centre starting at the Coach and Four and ending at The Brewhouse & kitchen so you can motivate/reward yourselves with a nice drink and maybe something to eat!

Wilmslows way better business street party.
The marketing and events team at Wilmslows Way Better thought it would be a nice idea for the businesses, their staff and loyal customers to have a town centre wide street party. As fun as it would have been, sadly it would not be practical to close the roads and the shops and have a huge party in the street. We have compromised though and on Wednesday 1st June many of your favourite retailers will be decorating and setting up little party stations at their front door. As they wind down from a busy working day the chosen time to raise a Pimms will be 4pm – 5pm.
Speak to your favourite hot spots in town and see if they will be taking party.
Community Beacon Lightening Lighting
On Tuesday 2nd June, we will hold a Beacon lighting event at The Memorial Gardens.
There will be a short ceremony, followed by the lighting of Wilmslow’s beacon on the tower of St Bart’s Church at 9.45pm, to coincide with the National Beacon Lighting Event.
Jubilee on The Carrs.
On Saturday 4th June, there will be two events at The Carrs:
- In the afternoon, a family fun day, including outdoor cinema, stalls and children’s entertainment.
