At its most basic level, STEM education entails instructing kids in four distinct disciplines: science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (collectively shortened as STEM). However, instead of teaching them in just one of these areas, STEM incorporates all four in an interdisciplinary and applied approach to better prepare them for careers and real-world applications. Therefore, we’re collaborating with Creative Hut to do a Tech Event based at Wilmslow Library on the 22nd of February. We’ve put together a list of activities that will be taking place next Tuesday:
Activity 1 – LEGO Education Robotics Suitable for ages 5-16 and beyond!
o Use your creativity & imagination to Build and Code lots of different types of real-world robots using the brilliant LEGO Education SPIKE Essential & SPIKE Prime sets. You can build Fair Ground Rides, Carnival Games, Vehicles & Rovers and lots more!
Activity 2 – Makeblock & Early Years Robotics
o Suitable for all ages
o Test your coding skills at all ages to program robots to race around our track mats! We have screenless-coding robots for younger children and scratch-based programmable robots for more experienced coders!
Activity 3 – Speed Racer
o Suitable for ages 5-16 and beyond!
o Test your creativity and engineering skills to build your own LEGO speed racer and see if you can get the fastest time down the speed ramp! The fastest time at the end of the day will win a special LEGO Set Prize!
Activity 4 – 3Doodler 3D Printing
o Suitable for ages 6+
o Get creative with the brilliant 3D Printing Pens to build all sorts of different decorations, jewellery, models, and anything else that you can imagine!
