Santa success at Christmas Day parkrun

While many of us were probably still in our pjamas the team at Wilmslow Park were up and out bright and early setting the course for the Christmas Day park run.

You would have thought after working all night Santa would have been straight on slippers on feet up …. but no!! He was down at The Carrs to start the runners off!

Speaking to one of our local Parkrun organisers Wayne earlier today, he was thrilled to tell me that they had over 300 runners this morning and gave a massive thanks to the 30 volunteers that help make these events possible! There was prosecco at the finish line for anyone who fancied a little celebratory tipple after such a lovely community way to start the big day.

There will be another parkrun this Saturday – yes NEW YEARS DAY – so why not blow off those cobwebs and start the new year off with some outdoor fun. If you don’t feel like running (or walking) parkrun relies on volunteers to make each event happen.
