“An inspiration” – Viscount Ashbrook of Arley Hall Opens the Charity Card & Gift Shop in Wilmslow Library

The Right Honourable Viscount Ashbrook of Arley Hall, officially opened the Charity Christmas Card and Gift shop at Wilmslow library on Tuesday 4th November.

Visiting the shop for the first time, Viscount Ashbrook praised the dedication of the volunteers and the lasting impact of the initiative.

“What a wonderful association this is,” he said. It is amazing how much work the volunteers undertake. Christmas cards are a lovely way to keep in touch and spread cheer. To combine the cards with charitable giving is so worthwhile.

He continued “I would like to thank everyone who makes this happen, especially Sheila, for 54 years and the ‘hard to get your head around’ figure of £6.5m that has been raised. To Jill and all the volunteers who continue to give so much,  you really are inspirational.”

In this role, Lord Ashbrook is a dedicated supporter of the organisation’s work, helping to raise awareness about how hearing dogs can transform the lives of deaf people by providing confidence, independence, and companionship.

Following the official opening, Viscount Ashbrook then took time along with Lady Ashbrook to browse the gifts and cards and make purchases, promising to come back to buy more cards as their list seems to get longer each year.
