High Sheriff of Cheshire visits Bare Necessities Toiletry Bank

Bare Necessities Toiletry Bank Shows High Sheriff of Cheshire how they are helping to change peoples lives for the better

“An amazing Charity changing people’s lives for the better” was just one comment from The High Sheriff of Cheshire, Clare Hayward MBE DL, when she visited Bare Necessities Toiletry Bank recently.

Having joined volunteers and trustees at the hub in Wilmslow, Clare was shown the type of toiletry and hygiene products recipients of the tote bags receive. It was explained how products are packed into age and gender specific bags and delivered monthly to 35 charities in the Cheshire East and Manchester area. Charities include women’s, youth & schools, mother & baby, foodbanks and street homeless.

Clare commented “What an impressive team, We loved understanding your purpose, how you operate and to see the passion, enthusiasm and high level of capability. Amazing!”

Visiting the charity alongside Clare was Tiffany Salmon from generous corporate supporter, Amelia Knight Ltd make-up manufacturer. Amelia Knight donate make-up products which are then used as a treat in the standard tote bags and are used in some of the special projects that are run throughout the year. These include Mother’s Day packs, Prom Packs and Christmas presents. Giving those with nothing a little something to help them feel included and brighten their day. Tiffany said “ Such an eye opening visit. A hugely impressive group who, it is clear, are making a massive impact on the local communities. Amelia Knight Ltd is so happy to be able to support.”

The High Sheriff also brought her own donation of toiletry products which were quickly added to the totes.

The charity relies on the generosity of people within Cheshire to donate both products, money and time. If you can buy an extra toiletry in your weekly shop or have any unused, unwanted makeup and toiletries, full sized or minis please drop them off into the donation boxes. Locations can be found on the website, alternatively, you can donate online via the website
