Award-winning CHYPS Pantomime returns to Wilmslow at the new year with Snow White
Wilmslow-based youth theatre company CHYPS (Cheshire Youth Pantomime Society) has announced their upcoming pantomime.
The company will be performing the classic Snow White at the Evans Theatre in Wilmslow Leisure Centre at new year. This will be their eighteenth pantomime since they formed in 2007.
Six performances are lined up, from Tuesday 30th December 2025 to Sunday 4th January 2026, including three matinees.
CHYPS shows are full of music and this production promises both current hits and timeless classics, brought to life by a talented cast of 11 to 18-year-old actors, singers and dancers from the local area.

Supported by a live band and truly stunning staging, CHYPS shows deliver entertainment on an impressive scale for audiences of all ages.
CHYPS have received numerous awards for their shows, including Best Principal Girl, Best Choreography, Best Director, Best Set Design and Best Pantomime.
“We had some amazing and very enthusiastic feedback from our audiences last year,” said CHYPS Vice Chairman Bill Beton. “I just love to see the smiles on the faces of everyone as they leave at the end of the show.”
Snow White will be played by Emily Taylor, who played the evil stepmother in the last CHYPS show Cinderella. “Rehearsals are the highlight of my week: coming together to create the show,” said Emily. “Playing Snow White is such a fantastic opportunity and honour for me. Growing up, I came to watch CHYPS shows every single year, so to play the princess is a dream come true. The incredible cast and crew work together to make the pantomime very special, so make sure you don’t miss it.”
Madison McMurray played Cinderella last year and won the award for Best Principal Girl. This year she is playing the evil Queen Avarice. “Playing the evil queen is so enjoyable but equally challenging, which makes rehearsals so interesting and exciting,” said Madison. “Playing the villain is a big task and is so different from my role last year, so I hope I can do Queen Avarice justice.”
CHYPS are a registered charity and very much at the heart of the community in Wilmslow. This year they are sponsored by Wilmslow Town Council, Wilmslow Round Table, Wilmslow’s Way Better and the Evans Art Trust.
“We believe our pantos are among the best in the North West,” said director Sally Hunt, who has been directing CHYPS since she formed the group in 2007. “We have such a talented cast, production and creative team and they are supported by an amazing live band. Every year we strive to improve our high standard and to also put something in that has a ‘wow’ factor. We will certainly be doing that this year, but no spoilers, you will have to come along and see what that is! You won’t be disappointed.”
Snow White runs from 30th December to 4th January at Wilmslow Leisure Centre, and includes three matinee shows whilst the children are still off school. Tickets are on sale now and can be found at www.chypspanto.com.
