FREE event will see superheroes and life-sized characters take over Wilmslow town centre for a day of family fun.
Superhero, action, adventure and animation fans will unite in Wilmslow on Saturday 26th April 2025, 10am to 4pm, as for the first time, Comic-Con takes over Green Lane in the centre of town.
Colourful characters from everyone’s favourite comics and movies will be spotted throughout the day providing entertainment and photo opportunities galore alongside interactive workshops and a unique Comic-Con market.
The FREE to attend, family event is being hosted by Wilmslow’s Way Better, funded through the Wilmslow BID which aims to develop the town centre business district and drive footfall to local businesses through improved marketing and a new programme of events and activities to animate the town centre.
Characters on the loose in Wilmslow will include Iron Man, Spiderman, Batman and the Gotham City Police Department. Transformers Bumblebee and Optimus Prime will be present in their vehicular and robot forms with a series of walkabouts and demonstrations along Green Lane.
Wilmslow streets (precise location to be announced) will also provide the setting for a showstopping Jurassic area with animatronic dinosaurs and characters inspired by the Jurassic Park franchise. Plus, Lara Croft will be roaming Grove Street with a spectacular Tomb Raider vehicle.
There will be superhero workshops throughout the day and outside The Rex Cinema will be a focal point for shopping, with an opportunity to bag some souvenirs from the day. A market stall area will provide a range of memorabilia, comics, games, books, artwork, toys and merchandise from a range of popular fantasy franchises such as Pokemon, Marvel, DC, My Little Pony and more.
Further surprise vehicles, characters and entertainment will also be announced nearer the time.
