Have Your Say on the Future of Wilmslow Town Centre
Wilmslow Town Council is inviting residents to join an informal community conversation about the future of Wilmslow town centre.
The Future of Wilmslow – a community conversation will give local people the opportunity to meet the Wilmslow Town Mayor, Councillor Sally Harrison, and other Town Councillors, ask questions, share ideas and find out more about plans for the town.
The events are designed to be informal and accessible, with no need to book. Residents can simply stop by the Town Council’s stall for a chat and have their say on what they would like to see for Wilmslow in the years ahead.
Help shape the future of Wilmslow
A key focus of the conversations will be the Wilmslow Public Realm Vision Prospectus.
The Prospectus sets out a vision for how the streets, public spaces and town centre could be rejuvenated and developed in the future.
Wilmslow Town Council wants to encourage more residents to become familiar with the ideas being considered and, importantly, to share their own views about how the town centre should evolve.
The aim is not to hold a formal presentation, but to create a genuine conversation with the people who live, work and spend time in Wilmslow.
When can you have your say?
Residents can meet the Mayor and Town Councillors at two initial events in September:
Friday 4 September 2026
Wilmslow Street Fest
Bank Square / Grove Street
5pm–8.30pm
Saturday 19 September 2026
Wilmslow Artisan Market / end of Grove Street
11am–4pm
Further pop-up conversations are also planned throughout September, with additional dates to be announced.
Meet the organisations helping shape Wilmslow
Alongside the Town Council, residents will also have the opportunity to meet representatives from three organisations working on different aspects of Wilmslow’s future.
Wilmslow BID / Wilmslow’s Way Better
Wilmslow BID, represented by Wilmslow’s Way Better, works to support and invigorate the town centre by promoting local businesses, showcasing what Wilmslow has to offer and delivering events, festivals and activities designed to attract people into the town.
Wilmslow Neighbourhood Plan Implementation Group
The Wilmslow Neighbourhood Plan Implementation Group works to help deliver the ambitions set out in the Wilmslow Neighbourhood Plan.
Its work supports projects and initiatives that can contribute to the long-term future of the town.
Lindow Moss Landscape Partnership
The Lindow Moss Landscape Partnership brings together community organisations, local authorities and environmental organisations.
Its shared aim is to conserve, restore and interpret the wider Lindow Moss landscape for the benefit of nature, the climate and local people.
Wilmslow Town Council is one of the founding partners.

Wilmslow Town Mayor, Councillor Sally Harrison, said:
“The future of Wilmslow is something that matters to all of us, and we want to hear directly from the people who live, work and spend time here.
“These are deliberately informal events – there’s no need to book and no formal presentation. Just stop by, have a chat with me or one of our Councillors, find out more about the Public Realm Vision Prospectus and tell us what you think.
“This is about starting a conversation and making sure that local people are aware of the ideas being considered for our town centre and have opportunities to help shape the future of Wilmslow.”
No booking required
Residents do not need to register or book in advance.
Simply pop along to either of the September events, speak to the Town Council team and share your views.
If you cannot make either date, further pop-up events will be taking place across Wilmslow during September.
