Cheshire A Cappella Joins Forces with Bare Necessities Toiletry Bank to help alleviate Hygiene Poverty

Cheshire A Cappella gave a heroic performance in Wilmslow during Storm Darragh to help Bare Necessities Toiletry Bank raise money.

The women’s barber shop choir sang festive songs outside The Grove and Mucky Pup on Grove Street to raise money for Bare Necessities as they took part in this years The Big Give Christmas Challenge.

Trustee Bev Heagerty said, “ The weather wasn’t on our side this time but many Wilmslow residents did pass by, stop, listen and donate. Cheshire A Cappella sang some really lovely songs and both The Grove and Mucky Pups were very accommodating. We raised £250”

Cheshire A Cappella is a diverse group of women from all walks of life united by a shared passion for singing. Weekly rehearsals are about enjoyment whilst working to expand the repertoire and hone vocal skills, culminating in performances for a variety of audiences. Liz O’Keeffe, from Cheshire A Cappella said “ We love singing anywhere and everywhere and if we can do it to support such an amazing local charity even better. We are proud supporters of Bare Necessities who we see working to transform lives by providing essential items to those in need.”

Bare Necessities, a grass roots charity committed to alleviating hygiene poverty, continuously seeks funds to support those in need. With Hygiene poverty affecting nearly 9.9 million people in the UK—about 1 in 5 adults—according to a recent report* the problem is not going away.
