Whether you’re looking for a leisurely stroll or a strenuous hike we’ve found the perfect routes for you and the family to enjoy, combining a leisurely lunch and some outdoor playtime with the kids. The Carrs and Little Lindow Park are popular choices, offering expansive green space and playgrounds, so lace up your boots and let’s get going.

WILMSLOW PARK AND RIVER BOLLIN (1.5 MILES)

Starting from Wilmslow railway station, head towards the river and join its meandering path through green fields till Vardon Bridge. With an average duration of 37 minutes this trail offers a perfect opportunity to prepare a picnic and let the children have some outdoor fun in Wilmslow Park.

QUARRY BANK MILL LOOP VIA CHAPEL BRIDGE (2.79 MILES)

Embark on a delightful stroll through history with the Quarry Bank Mill loop via Chapel Bridge, approximately 2.79 miles. This easy hike caters to all fitness levels, featuring easily-accessible paths suitable for beginners and seasoned walkers alike. Starting right next to a convenient car park, this trail offers the perfect start to your adventure. Along the way, immerse yourself in Britain’s finest industrial heritage sites, surrounded by picturesque gardens and idyllic countryside views.

THE CARRS TO ROSSMERE (5.5 MILES)

Begin your walk at The Carrs Park car park, located next to St Bartholomew’s church. Follow the path along the River Bollin, crossing over to the scenic Black Lake on Lindow Common. Enjoy the beautiful pathways and lanes leading towards Rossmere, especially in early spring when in bloom. This walk is a great option for families, with plenty of opportunities for the kids to play in the park and enjoy the outdoors.

WILMSLOW TO MOTTRAM HALL (9.2 MILES)

This picturesque walk begins in Wilmslow town centre. From there, head towards the railway station on Station Road and turn left after the railway bridge into Wilmslow Park South, leading to a footpath along the River Bollin. Following the river until reaching the bridge over Adlington Road, cross the road, and continue on the path to Newton Hall Farm. From there, the route winds through scenic spots like Mill Lane, Willot Hall, and Mottram Hall.
