First Wilmslow Street Fest a summer success!

Wilmslow Business Improvement District (BID) and Market Co are thrilled to announce the success of the first-ever Wilmslow Street Fest – a free community event – which took place in Wilmslow on Friday, 30th August, 5 pm to 9 pm.

Wilmslow Street Fest brought together a vibrant mix of town centre businesses, local traders, and residents who enjoyed the first event of its kind, centred around Bank Square, in the heart of the town. This family-friendly event saw visitors indulging in a diverse range of dishes from 15 food outlets and local businesses, all while enjoying live music and street entertainment.

Lisa Russett, BID Manager, expressed her delight at the positive response to the event, stating, “The first Wilmslow Street Fest was a huge success and a true celebration of Wilmslow’s strong community spirit and vibrant local partnerships. It was brilliant to see so many residents and visitors come together to support and celebrate our town. This was the first event of many, and we are looking forward to announcing the next date for Wilmslow Street Fest very soon.”

Founder of Market Co, Denise Valente, was thrilled with the turnout, stating, “I was blown away by the number of people that came along to the very first Wilmslow Street Fest in Market Co’s hometown. It was heartwarming to see families and friends enjoying time together and rewarding to hear the feedback first hand, which was overwhelmingly positive from the traders, the public and performers. It certainly was a BIG sprinkle of Va-Va-voom as promised!”

Wilmslow BID Chair and owner of Black White Denim, Joanna Davies, reflected the thoughts of the BID businesses, stating, “Yet again Wilmslow has delivered a way better event for our brilliant community. Wilmslow Street Fest was more like a large-scale music festival than a market town street party. Bring on the next one!”

The positive feedback received all round has paved the way for future editions of the event, with plans underway to make it a regular feature on the town’s social calendar.
