Wilmslow Live a big Bank Holiday hit!

Wilmslow Live is a big hit with thousands turning out to enjoy free live music over the bank holiday weekend

Thousands of visitors headed into Wilmslow last weekend to enjoy live music from a range of local artists as part of the first ever Wilmslow Live event.

Organised by Wilmslow Business Improvement District (BID), on behalf of Wilmslow town centre businesses, local bands and musicians including singer songwriter Jess Scragg, soul and funk band Violet Line, Indie folk/pop musician Black Sheep Lad, KJP & The Divas, Wilmslow High School’s Sunstate, all-female Siren Sounds choir and Alderley and Wilmslow Musical Theatre Group, all took to the headline stage, sponsored by Orbit Developments & hosted by Darren Antrobus from Silk FM.

In addition to live music there were lots of free family-friendly activities on offer in the Wilmslow Live Family Fun Zone sponsored by Arlo & Jacob, including mini golf, free face painting, games and balloon modelling, as well as lots of delicious street food. The town’s cafés, restaurants, pubs, and bars also took part in the celebrations, with a line-up of exciting events and performances across the entire weekend.

Lisa Russett, Wilmslow BID Manager, said: “We’re delighted so many people enjoyed Wilmslow Live last weekend! The town was absolutely buzzing and there was a great atmosphere – it was a brilliant day! I also want to say a big thank you to all our artists and bands – some of these are on the cusp of big things so it was great to be able to see them right here and now in Wilmslow!”
